Subsea 7 to tie in Erha North offshore Nigeria

Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria has contracted Subsea 7 (Oslo Børs:SUBC) for subsea installations on the Erha North field development offshore Nigeria.

LUXEMBOURG – Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria has contracted Subsea 7 (Oslo Børs:SUBC) for subsea installations on the Erha North field development offshore Nigeria. Water depths are between 1,000 m and 1,200 m (3,281 ft and 3,937 ft).

The contract was awarded to a consortium of West African Ventures and Subsea 7’s Nigerian subsidiary.

Scope of work for Subsea 7 includes engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of 25 km (16 mi) of flowlines, 15 km (9 mi) of umbilicals, 17 rigid jumpers, and modifications to theErha FPSO to allow integration with the new subsea facilities. 

The project will maximize the use of Nigerian personnel and resources, with large parts of the design executed locally, along with fabrication of all subsea structures.

Subsea 7 will use its new flagship vesselSeven Borealis and the Seven Pacific for offshore installations, which are due to start early in 2015.
