Hyundai recruits CB&I for spar design support

Hyundai Heavy Industries has awarded CB&I (NYSE: CBI) a $180-million-plus contract for Statoil’s Aasta Hansteen project in the Norwegian Sea.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Hyundai Heavy Industries has awarded CB&I (NYSE: CBI) a $180-million-plus contract for Statoil’s Aasta Hansteen project in the Norwegian Sea.

CB&I’s scope includes detailed engineering design and procurement services for thespar platform topsides. This will be the world’s largest spar to date, capable of producing 812 MMcf/d (23 MMcm/d) of gas and storing 160,000 bbl of condensate.
