DUBAI, UAE – Polarcus is discussing a long-term collaboration with Turkish Petroleum Corp. (TPAO) on services.

This includes the sale and reflagging of the eight-streamer 3D seismic vessel Polarcus Samur and provision by Polarcus of seismic data acquisition, management, and crewing services for the vessel.

TPAO plans to use the vessel for seismic exploration of the Turkish sectors of the Black and Mediterranean seas. The aims of the collaboration include potentially opening several new provinces for future exploration.

Subject to successful negotiations, TPAO is expected to take delivery of Polarcus Samur during 1Q 2013.
