DUBAI, UAE – Polarcus has taken delivery of Polarcus Samur, a newbuild 3D seismic vessel. Built at Drydocks World – Dubai. It becomes the fourth vessel in Polarcus’ fleet as it heads to Namibia under charter to HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A. and UNX Energy Corp.

The Samur is an arctic-capable, eight streamer 3D seismic vessel of the Ulstein SX133 design. It can tow both conventional and wide tow spreads. It is 84.2 m (276 ft) long and 17 m (56 ft) wide. It can deploy eight streamers each of 6,000 m (3 ¾ mi) length, or six streamers each of 8,000 m (5 mi) length with later separation between 25 and 200 m (82 and 656 ft).
