Offshore staff
STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil (OSE:STL) has triggered a two-year contract option with Aker Well Service for mechanical wireline services on its rigs and fields offshore Norway.
The initial three-year contract period started in 2009. Aker estimates the value of the current extension at NOK 700-800 million ($123-141 million).
Aker will manage the contract from its well service hub at Forus, Stavanger, and will allocate about 400 personnel, of which 60% will support Statoil offshore.
The contract covers the following fields: Heidrun; Njord A; Brage; Grane; Gullfaks A, B and C; Heimdal; Huldra; Kvitebjørn; Oseberg B, C, East and West; Troll A; Veslefrikk; Visund A; and Volve.
It also takes in the majority of the mobile drilling rigs Statoil will use at its subsea fields in the North Sea, including Gullfaks satellites, Heidrun satellites, Hyme, Kristin, Mikkel, Norne, Oseberg, Tune, Snorre UPA, Snøhvit, Statfjord satellites, Tordis, Troll, Vega, Vigdis, Visund, Yttergryta, and Åsgard.
Additionally, Aker Solutions will provide operational support to Statoil’s field centers at Stavanger, Bergen, Stjørdal, and Harstad.
