STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil and partners have awarded Welltec and Aker Well Service new wireline tractor contracts for fields on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). Both run for four years, from next Feb. 1 through Jan. 31, 2017.
Wireline tractor services are used to transport well intervention equipment - logging tools, perforating guns and plugs – up to several kilometers in horizontal wells; and to perform remedial work on wells.
Welltec's $94-million contract covers 40% of the scope and includes Statoil installations operated from Bergen: Gullfaks, Huldra, Kvitebjørn, Visund, Veslefrikk, Valemon, Oseberg, Brage, Troll, Grane, Heimdal, Gullfaks SAT, Oseberg SAT, Vega, Tune, Fram, Vestflanken (Troll), Vale, Vilje, and Bygve/Skirne.
Aker Well Service's $69.7-million contract covers 30% of the scope and takes in installations operated from Stavanger, Stjørdal and Harstad, Statfjord, Volve, Sleipner, Snorre, Gudrun, Dagny (including Ermintrude), Morvin, Åsgard, Trestakk, Kristin, Heidrun/SAT, Norne/SAT, Njord, Tyrihans, Mikkel, Yttergryta, Alve, Urd, Aasta Hansteen, Snøhvit, and Hyme.
The remaining 30% - mobile drilling, completion and intervention units operated from the Stavanger office - will be an optional scope under which all pre-qualified suppliers will be chosen on a job-by-job basis.
