KHORAMSHAHR, Iran – The first platform for the South Pars Phase 12 development should be installed during the next few days offshore Iran.

According to Iranian news service Shana, the 3,260-ton structure left the Khoramshahr Yard 10 days ago, but bad weather has pushed back the installation schedule.

Phase 12 calls for three main and three satellite platforms. Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. (IOEC) is building the second and third main structures at the same yard. Both are expected to be transported to the offshore site shortly after the first platform has been set down.

This phase of the field is designed to produce 75 MMcm/d (2.65 tcf/d) of rich gas for delivery to Iran’s national grid and LNG plants. It will also deliver 120,000 b/d of gas/condensate and 750 metric tons/d of sulfur.

Petropars is the main contractor.

Elsewhere, installation has been completed of thefirst 32-in. offshore pipeline of Phase 19, according to Pars Oil & Gas Co. The pipeline is 115 km (71 mi) long. Phase 19 is the first South Pars project under which offshore pipelay started earlier to speed up extraction of gas reserves.
