Lundin resumes offshore Malaysia drilling program

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Lundin Petroleum has spudded its fourth exploration well this year offshore Malaysia.

The jackupWest Courageous is drilling Tembakau-1 in 80 m (262 ft) water depth on the PM307 block offshore east coast Peninsula Malaysia.

The well will target hydrocarbons in Oligocene and Miocene aged sands in a low-relief structure 50 km (31 mi) northwest of Lundin’sBertam-2 oil discovery.

Drilling should last two to three weeks. Lundin has a 75% interest in PM307 via its subsidiary Lundin Malaysia, the remainder held by Petronas Carigali.
