Hess opts out of Caspian ACG fields

Hess has agreed to sell its 2.72% in the Azeri, Chirag, and Guneshli fields (ACG) in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea to India’s ONG Videsh.

NEW YORK – Hess has agreed to sell its 2.72% in the Azeri, Chirag, and Guneshli fields (ACG) in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea to India’s ONG Videsh.

The $1-billion transaction also includes Hess’ 2.36% stake in the associatedBTC overland export pipeline. It is expected to close during 1Q 2013, subject to Indian and other government and regulatory approvals.

BP operates the ACG fields, 100 km (62 mi) east of Baku, which have been in production since 1997.
