EnQuest says three wells have been completed since operations started in January on the Alma/Galia development in the UK North Sea.

LONDON– EnQuest says three wells have been completed since operations started in January on the Alma/Galia development in the UK North Sea.

Well K1 came in 56 ft (17 m) high to prognosis, well K2 was 6 ft (1.8 m) high to prognosis, and well K3Z was 18 ft (5.4 m) high to prognosis.

TheFPSOEnQuest Producer is in Hamburg undergoing modification and life extension work. All subsea material and installation contracts have been placed and first offshore construction should start this summer.

Alma/Galia is on track for first oil in 4Q 2013. Earlier this year EnQuest agreed to farm out 35% of the development toKuwaiti company, KUFPEC.

Elsewhere in the UK northern North Sea, EnQuest continues the concept selection phase for theheavy oil Kraken development, with technical facilities and subsurface studies in progress. New 3D seismic data have been acquired, with initial interpretation nearing completion. A field development plan should be submitted during the first half of 2013. Cairn recently became a partner.

At Don Southwest, which is already in production, the S10 well has been drilled as a replacement for S1, and will come onstream later this year. Last month another new well was brought online, having been drilled to the highest point of the horst, updip of the S5 well.
