Greenland 2D survey ahead of licensing round

TGS (OSLO:TGS) and Fugro (AMS:FUR) have started acquisition of a 2D multi-client survey covering 3,000 km (1,864 mi) offshore northeast Greenland.

ASKER, Norway – TGS (OSLO:TGS) and Fugro (AMS:FUR) have started acquisition of a 2D multi-client survey covering 3,000 km (1,864 mi) offshore northeast Greenland.  

Results from the NEG12 survey will be available before the Dec.15 application deadline for the 2012/13 Greenland licensing round.

Once this year’s survey is completed, TGS will be able to offer about 7,500 km (4,660 mi) of multi-client 2D data, a large volume of reprocessed multi-client 2D data, and full coverage of aeromagnetic/gravity data over and adjacent to the basins included in the licensing round.

TheM/V Akademik Shatskiy is acquiring the new data, supported by the ice breaker M/V Viking Balder, with a helicopter engaged for ice density monitoring. TGS will process the data.
