TGS extending NW Europe long-offset seismic database

TGS (TGS:Oslo) has started work on two multi-client 2D surveys off northwest Europe in cooperation with Fugro.

ASKER, Norway – TGS (TGS:Oslo) has started work on two multi-client 2D surveys off northwest Europe in cooperation with Fugro.

The North Sea Renaissance 2012 (NSR12) survey, to be acquired by theM/V Akademik Shatskyi and processed by TGS, will cover 8,200 km (5,095 mi) and is a regional infill west of Shetland.

The Norwegian Barents Sea 2012 (NBR12), to be acquired by theM/V Osprey Explorer, will be processed by both TGS and Fugro. It will cover 12,000 km (7,456 mi) and is a regional infill in the Barents Sea.

On completion, TGS’ long-offset grid in the region will total more than 300,000 km (186,411 mi). The data will be available to clients early next year.
