Noble semisubmersible on location for deepwater Israel well

The semisubmersible Noble Homer Ferrington has arrived at the Myra-1 well location offshore Israel, and may have started drilling operations.

CALGARY, Canada – The semisubmersible NobleHomer Ferrington has arrived at the Myra-1 well location offshore Israel, and may have started drilling operations.

This will be operatorGeoGlobal Resources’ first deepwater well in the Levantine basin.

Myra-1 is 80 km (49.7 mi) off the Israeli coast in around 1,500 m (4,921 ft) of water. The well will be drilled to about 5,200 m (17,060 ft) TVD subsea, which should take roughly 70 days.

On completion of the well, the rig will transfer to the Sara-1 location, 60 km (37 mi) offshore Israel, in 1,400 m water depth. This well will be drilled to about 4,000 m (13,123 ft) TVD subsea and should take 50 days to drill.
