CALGARY, Canada – GeoGlobal Resources has completed processing and interpretation of 1,360 sq km (525 sq mi) of 3D seismic over the Myra and Sara licenses offshore Israel.
The Israel Petroleum Commissioner’s Office has granted anextension for the planned drilling program on both licenses from the previous deadline of March 31 to June 15, due to the late arrival of the contracted drilling rig, the semisub Noble Homer Ferrington. Currently the rig is completing a well in the Levantine basin, after which it will mobilize directly to the Myra-1 location.
On theSamuel offshore license, data compiled from a 43-sq km (16-mi) 3D survey last summer has been processed. The summary interpretation report has been submitted to the Israeli government. GeoGlobal expects drilling to start before the end of 2012.
