AKER, Norway –TGS (OSLO:TGS) has started to acquire 4,000 sq km (1,544 sq mi) of multi-client 3D seismic data near the southern Møre basin in the northern North Sea.

The EOTW12 survey adds to the previously announcedErlend basin survey and ties with the existing northern North Sea End of World survey. After EOTTW12, TGS will have 13,000 sq km of contiguous 3D volume in the area.

The seismic data is being acquired by the M/VPolarcus Amani and M/V Polarcus Adira and should be completed  in 3Q 2012. Data processing will be performed by TGS and be available during 2Q 2013. It aims to de-risk multiple play types spanning Cretaceous to Triassic age reservoirs and is adjacent to a current exploration well targeting the Albert prospect.
