Premier secures Wilphoenix for late-year drilling

ABERDEEN, UK -- Awilco Drilling has a letter of award from Premier Oil for use of the semisubmersible WilPhoenix drilling rig.

This involves drilling two exploration wells, each with an estimated duration of 30 days, with an option to drill up to two further wells.

The contract value for the firm period is around $17.4 million. Drilling should start this fall.

WilPhoenixis an Enhanced Pacesetter design semi, equipped for drilling in water depths of up to 1,200 ft (366 m).
