HAUGESUND, Norway –Statoil has awardedDeepOcean Group additional inspection, repair, and maintenance contracts.

The Norwegian giant has signed a one-year option for the Edda Fauna under the vessel’s existing inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) frame contract.

It has also agreed to upgrade the vessel’s scale squeeze system for well stimulation. This should assist Statoil’s efforts to maintain and improve production in its North Sea subsea wells.

Statoil has also extended by eight months an existing IRM frame contract with the Edda Fonn, which it has engaged for several years for inspection duties.

Both vessels are supported by onshore project teams in DeepOcean’s Haugesund office.
