More offshore UK gas region blocks for Fairfield

Fairfield Energy has been awarded four blocks in the southern North Sea under the second tranche of the ’s 26th Seaward Licensing Round.

Fairfield Energy has been awarded four blocks in the southern North Sea under the second tranche of the ’s 26th Seaward Licensing Round.

The company will operate a license covering blocks 48/8d, 48/9b, and 48/14c in the Southern Gas basin, immediately north of Centrica’sEnsign field, in partnership with Bayerngas Europe Ltd.

In addition, has been awarded a 50% interest in block 48/20b, operated by RWE. The location is southeast of theClipper South field, currently under development by the same partnership plus partner Bayerngas (25%).

Subject to approvals, Fairfield will farm down a 25% interest in block 48/20b to Bayerngas to align with the interests at Clipper South.
