OSLO, Norway – Dolphin Drilling has a letter of award from Total E&P UK to provide the semisubmersible Borgsten Dolphin for a drilling program in the northern North Sea.
The rig will undertake a 40-month program of tender support services at the Dunbar platform. The contract should start in mid-November 2012 following upgrade and conversion of the rig.
For Dolphin, the estimated contract value is $245 million. Additionally, Total will contribute toward contract-specific rig investments, and there are options to extend the contract by two six-month terms.
Confirmation remains subject to client formal approval, final contract agreement, and various engineering studies.
