OSLO, Norway — Dolphin Drilling signed a letter of intent in late December with an operator to provide the semisub Borgland Dolphin for a 500-day drilling program in UK waters.
The campaign will start directly after the rig’s firm contract with EnQuest concludes in the same sector. This latest award will keep the rig occupied through 2025-26, with further options.
Dolphin also announced that Peak Petroleum has served formal notice of legal action disputing the termination of a previously agreed drilling contract.
According to Dolphin, the termination followed a continued breach of contract, adding that it would consult its legal advisers and respond accordingly.
