GURGAOR, India – Cairn India has completed infill drilling and workover activities designed to augment oil production and increase water injection capacity at the Ravva field offshore eastern India.

The infill campaign has had a beneficial impact, allowing the partners to slow Ravva’s production decline.

Processed 4D seismic data over the field is undergoing interpretation, with 4D inversion work set to be completed by the end of this month. The focus is on identifying bypassed oil zones in the reservoir, finding further ways of slowing the production decline rate, and evaluating further potential in the deeper zones.

Offshore Sri Lanka, subsidiary company Cairn Lanka recently discovered gas in the offshore Mannar basin via the deepwater CLPL-Dorado-91H/1z well.

The second well in the three-well program, CLPL-Barracuda-1G/1 was spudded on Oct. 4.
