Pipes in place for South Pars 15, 16 in Persian Gulf

TEHRAN, Iran – Offshore pipelay is nearing completion at phases 15 and 16 of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

Project manager Abolqasem Noubakhti told Iranian news service Shana that 115 km (71 mi) of pipe had been laid for South Pars Phase 16, and a similar length on Phase 15 should be in place in the next few days.

Overall, construction for both phases is now 74% complete, he added, and the associated onshore gas processing plant should come on line in December.
