Statoil goes to FMC for Visund Nord subsea equipment

Statoil has signed a $50-million contract with FMC Technologies Inc. for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment for Visund Nord, a fasttrack oil and gas field in 1,150 ft (380 m) water depth in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

HOUSTON – Statoil has signed a $50-million contract with FMC Technologies Inc. for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment for Visund Nord, a fasttrack oil and gas field in 1,150 ft (380 m) water depth in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

FMC will supply two subsea production trees, one manifold, and associated subsea and topside control systems. The equipment will be based on FMC’s standard design for Statoil’s subsea installations. Delivery of the structure and wellhead systems is scheduled for 2Q 2012 with the remainder to follow in 1Q 2013.
