Det Norske Veritas elects board, council chairman

Leif-Arne Langøy has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Det Norske Veritas.

OSLO, Norway – Leif-Arne Langøy has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Det Norske Veritas. Walter Qvam has been elected chairman of the DNV Council. Morten Ulstein has been elected vice chairman of the DNV board.

Langøy has held senior positions and directorships in the Aker system during the past few years and was the CEO of Aker ASA until 2009. He is also the chairman of Sparebanken Møre, a director of Istad AS, and vice chairman of The Resource Group AS.

Qvam established the consulting company Bene Agere before taking over as CEO of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA in 2007.
