EDINBURGH, UK – Cairn Energy has announced that Simon Thomson will become CEO on July 1, 2011. He succeeds Sir Bill Gammell, who will become non-executive chairman.
Dr. Mike Watts will continue as deputy chief executive. Jann Brown, in light of her widening responsibilities including human resources, corporate affairs and company secretarial in addition to her current role as finance director will become managing director of the company.
Norman Murray, non-executive chairman; Malcolm Thoms, COO; and Philip Tracy, group engineering and operations director, will step down from the board of directors.
