CALGARY, Canada – Sterling Resources has spudded the Cladhan appraisal well 210/30a-4 in UK northern North Sea block 210/30a.

According to partner EnCore Oil, the aim is to drill further down dip into the Cladhan structure, southeast of the 2008 discovery well and last year’s side tracks, in an attempt to unearth deeper oil.

The semisub Transocean Prospect is drilling the well, which should take 40 days, depending on weather and operational needs.

Other partners in the block are Wintershall and Dyas.
