OSLO, Norway -- Statoil has awarded Aker Subsea a letter of intent for a subsea production system for the Fossekall-Dompap project in the Norwegian Sea. The contract value is estimated at around NOK 1 billion ($179 million).
Fossekall-Dompap is a fasttrack project north of the Norne complex, 200 km (124 mi) west of Sandessjøen in blocks 6608/10 and 6608/11, in a water depth of approximately 380 m (1,247 ft).
Aker’s scope of work includes three template-manifold structures, 11 subsea trees, a control system, and a tie-in system. There are also options in the contract for other field developments on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Management, engineering, and procurement will be performed mainly at Aker Solutions' headquarters in Oslo.
Fabrication of the subsea trees will be completed at the company’s Tranby complex, with Aker’s yard in Egersund manufacturing the template-manifolds, and the division in Aberdeen handling the control system.
Final deliveries are due in mid-2013.
Aker Solutions contract party is Aker Subsea AS.
