MASSY, France – GE Oil & Gas and Sulzer each have contracted Converteam to supply electrical equipment to the CLOV development offshore Angola.

Converteam will supply to GE five variable speed drive systems including motors for the main gas compressors on the CLOV FPSO.

“This project is a premiere as it will be the first FPSO fully equipped with electric variable speed drives for process compressors and water injection pumps,” says Christian Bozec, Oil & Gas director at Converteam (France). “Total power is about 50 MW.”

Converteam will supply to Sulzer two drives and the electrical motors for the water injection pumps on the block 17 project.
