Offshore staff

DUBAI, UAE -- McDermott International has renewed for a further 30 years the lease for its fabrication facility, marine base, and Middle East headquarters in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai.

The company originally started operating in the region from a yard on the shores of the Dubai Creek in 1971, before relocating to Jafza in 1986. This facility was officially inaugurated in January 1987.

The 58-ha (143-acre) yard has the capacity to perform over 8 million man-hours/yr of work, and over 50,000 metric tons/yr (55,115 tons/yr) of facilities, while also serving as the marine base to four work barges and a fleet of support vessels.
