ANTWERP, Belgium -- Hydrex has completed repair and replacement work on one of four swing-up azimuth thrusters for a crane barge servicing rigs offshore Gabon.
For the project, Hydrex used a large mobdock stored in Africa following a similar repair. An operations base was set up on a work barge next to the crane barge. The mobdock was installed and water was pumped out to create a dry working environment for removal of the thruster.
