HOUSTON -- Petrobras has awarded Subsea 7’s i-Tech division, a five-year contract to provide ROV and underwater positioning survey services offshore Brazil. The estimated valued is $50 million.

i-Tech will deploy two Centurion QX work-class ROVs and associated services from a survey vessel. Mobilization of equipment and personnel will start shortly.

“The award allows us to provide additional services encompassing the provision of a number of high precision ROV mounted sensors, including inertial navigation and sound velocity equipment, all of which are linked to a navigation software program to allow the integration of all positioning sensors onboard the vessel,” said managing director Bruce Masson.

The contract carries an extension option.
