ABERDEEN, UK -- Expro has a £1.9-million ($3-million) contract from FMC Kongsberg to supply connector systems to Total’s Laggan-Tormore gas field development, 125 mi (201 km) West of Shetland.

Expro’s Connectors & Measurements division will supply the 5 kV connector systems to provide power to subsea control modules. The program includes design and development work to comply with the project’s subsea electrical layout.

The Laggan-Tormore gas fields are in water depths of up to 600 m (1,968 ft).

“Our 5 kV connector system has been used predominantly for linking to electrical submersible pumps, but on this project it is being used to provide power to the subsea control module on a long step-out project,” says Mark Jones, Expro Connectors & Measurements director
