Aker to prepare Norne for Marulk tie-in
Statoil has contracted Aker Offshore Partner to manage the tie-in of the ENI-operated Marulk field in the Norwegian Sea to the Norne field FPSO.
STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil has contracted Aker Offshore Partner to manage the tie-in of the ENI-operated Marulk field in the Norwegian Sea to the Norne field FPSO. The contract value is around $19 million.
Marulk, in license PL122, is roughly 30 km (18.6 mi) southwest of Norne, in a water depth of 365 m (1,197 ft). Under the initial development, two wells will be tied back to the FPSO, which is currently Norway’s northernmost production facility.
Aker’s scope will be to prepare the floater for installation and start-up of the Marulk template. To accommodate the tie-back at topside level, a new flowline will be hooked up to Norne’s production and test manifolds.
The tie-in is an amendment to a modifications contract Aker Solutions already had with Statoil for Norne. Work starts immediately and the project, to be managed out of Aker’s base in Trondheim, should be completed next March.
Statoil, as operator of PL 128, is performing the topside modification work. ENI Norge is operator of PL 122.
