Ocean Installer to handle North Sea Gina Krog subsea tie-ins
Ocean Installer has won an $85-million contract for subsea installations and tie-ins at the Statoil-operated Gina Krog and Eirin fields offshore Norway.
Scope of work includes design, fabrication, and subsea installation of a gas export pipeline end manifold, the oil export riser base, tie-in spools and covers, and associated remote tie-ins. Work related to the Eirin field is included as an option due to the later project sanctioning schedule for this development.
Ocean Installer will perform offshore installations in 2015 and 2016 using the construction support vesselsNormand Mermaid, Normand Clipper, and Normand Vision.
Gina Krog (ex-Dagny) is an oil and gas field 30 km (18.6 mi) north of the Sleipner A installation in the North Sea. Eirin is a gas/condensate field 9 km (5.6 mi) northwest of Gina Krog. Water depth in the area is around 120 m (394 ft). Start-up is expected in early 2017.
