Ezra orders third deepwater MFSV

Ezra Holdings Ltd. has awarded a $107.2-million contract to Karmsund Maritime Service AS of Norway to design and build a 27,000 brake horsepower (bhp) multi-functional support vessel (MFSV) for delivery in 2010.

SINGAPORE -- Ezra Holdings Ltd. has awarded a $107.2-million contract to Karmsund Maritime Service AS of Norway to design and build a 27,000 brake horsepower (bhp) multi-functional support vessel (MFSV) for delivery in 2010.

The MFSV will be equipped for:
• Offshore construction
• Sub-sea installation
• ROV interventions
• Installation-maintenance-repair
• Deepwater anchor handling in depths up to 5,000 m (16,404 ft)
• Towing
• Supply runs
• Standby and rescue
• Tanker assistance.

The vessel will be built to meet the requirements of the Environmental Protection and Clean Design requirements for operations in the North Sea.
