DESSC takes delivery of newbuild AHTS

Deep Sea Supply has taken delivery of the Sea Otter, a 6,500 bhp anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel from ABG shipyard in India.

SINGAPORE -- Deep Sea Supply has taken delivery of the Sea Otter, a 6,500 bhp anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel from ABG shipyard in India. The vessel will go directly to Indonesia for a four-month charter with ConocoPhilips, the company says.

The Sea Otter is the first of nine AHTS newbuilds to be delivered from ABG Shipyard and the sixth newbuild delivered to Deep Sea Supply this year.

The previously announced contract for the vesselSea Wolverine with Swiber has been canceled, DESSC says. The Sea Wolverine is the next vessel that will be delivered from the ABG Shipyard. The vessel is being converted to a DP0-1 vessel. Delivery is scheduled for Dec. 2007 as opposed to the previously announced date in September.
