OSLO, Norway -- Rolls-Royce has won orders to supply propulsion and control systems for seven platform supply vessels under construction in Brazil.
The vessels will serve to transfer supplies and equipment between offshore installations and the mainland. Four have been ordered by CBO (Companhia Brasileira de Offshore) and will be built at the Alianca yard, with the remainder built at STX Promar. Two of these three vessels have been contracted to Siem Consub, with the other going to Deep Sea Supply.
The orders, valued in total at around $21.6 million, comprise AZP thrusters and transverse thrusters to all seven vessels, and control and automation systems for dynamic positioning for the CBO vessels. Delivery will take place starting 2Q 2010.
Recently Rolls-Royce opened a repair and overhaul facility in Niteroi to expand its capacity to support customers in the Brazil region.
