ABERDEEN -- Craig Group has unveiled its latest offshore support vessel, the Grampian Confidence. The NSS-IMT 948 designed ERRV (Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel) is equipped with two daughter craft and one fast rescue craft.
It is part of an ongoing £130 million fleet investment program by the group that started in 2003. To date, seven vessels have been delivered and are currently in service, with a further four to follow over the next 12 months. The additions comprise ERRVs, a platform supply vessel, and an ROV survey vessel.
The Grampian Confidence will start working for CNR International at the Ninian Complex in the East Shetland basin in April, succeeding the Grampian Crusader, which currently maintains operations at Ninian.
Other newbuild sister ships Grampian Corsair, Contender, and Courageous, have all secured long-term contracts in the North Sea.
The group's emergency response and rescue vessels provide frontline cover for thousands of personnel in the North Sea. Aside from mass evacuation of an offshore installation, they provide services including anti-collision surveillance, pollution control, emergency towage, and tanker-assist duties.
