Farstad Shipping awarded Australia, New Zealand vessel charters

A consortium of operators under the agency of Australian Drilling Associates has awarded Farstad Shipping a two-vessel charter for a period of 12 to 15 months to support a drilling campaign in waters off Australia and New Zealand.

MELBOURNE, Australia -- A consortium of operators under the agency of Australian Drilling Associates has awarded Farstad Shipping a two-vessel charter for a period of 12 to 15 months to support a drilling campaign in waters off Australia and New Zealand.

The consortium has contracted the AHTS Far Scimitar and the AHTS Far Fosna to support the semisubmersible rig Kan Tan IV. The vessels are expected to depart the North Sea in early June.

In addition, Shell Australia has contracted the PSV/ROV Lady Christine for four months to support drilling operations offshore Western Australia.

Petrobras has renewed its contract for the PSV Far Sleipner in Brazil for a further two years. Petrobras has also declared options to extend contracts for the AHTS Far Sailor and the AHTS Far Senior for 146 days.

Statoil has extended its contract for the PSV Far Star for two years.

The total revenue from these contracts is approximately $71 million.
