PERTH, Australia -- The tender documents for a semisubmersible rig to drill the Sambuca prospect were formally opened in the presence of ETAP (Enterprise Tunisienne D'Activites Petrolieres), according to AuDAX Resources.

Invitations to tender were sent to 15 potential bidders. Six bids were valid. Nine companies declined due to rig unavailability or did not respond.

The full technical and commercial evaluation is expected to be completed by Sept. 30. Internal AuDAX and ETAP approval for award of the contract is expected to be completed in October.

The Sambuca prospect is in the Mediterranean Sea and has a total P50 recoverable resource potential of 270 MMboe, the companies says.
