Keppel delivers jackup Greatdrill Chetna ahead of schedule

Mercator Offshore has awarded Keppel FELS a $625,000 bonus for delivering the jackup Greatdrill Chetna, 20 days ahead of schedule, within budget, and without incidents.

SINGAPORE -- Mercator Offshore has awarded Keppel FELS a $625,000 bonus for delivering the jackup Greatdrill Chetna, 20 days ahead of schedule, within budget, and without incidents.

Built to Keppel's proprietary KFELS B class design,Greatdrill Chetna has been contracted to Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC). The vessel is the 27th KFELS B class jackup rig to enter the market and will be deployed for three years in the Mumbai High oil field off the west coast of India.

The rig is capable of operating in water depths of 350 ft (107 m) and drilling wells to 30,000 ft (9,144 m) deep. Its design also incorporates Keppel's advanced and fully automated high capacity rack and pinion elevating system, and self-positioning fixation system.
