HOUSTON -- Halliburton has unveiled its new vessel, the Stim Star Borneo, a self propelled barge designed to work in offshore oil and gas fields with the additional capability of servicing wells in the rivers and deltas in Indonesia.
The vessel is fully equipped to handle all phases of production stimulation including acidizing, acid fracturing, proppant fracturing, sand control, and conformance treatments. In addition, it is equipped to provide well intervention services using coiled tubing.
At 200 ft (61 m) length and 66 ft (20 m) width, the vessel has an operating draft of 10.5 ft (3.2 m) offshore and 9 ft (2.7 m) in the delta areas. Above deck storage capacities consist of 5,200 gal acid, almost 4,400 gal additives, and 350,000 lb proppant. Below deck capacities are almost 3,500 bbl of process and completion fluid and over 4,700 bbl of drill water. Maximum fracturing rate is 18 b/min with sand and 25 b/min with clean fluid.
TheStim Star Borneo meets or exceeds the requirement of SOLAS and other regulatory bodies, the company says. In addition, the vessel is outfitted to provide environmentally sustainable operations.
