UAE fabricator has busy offshore drilling rig schedule

DUBAI, UAE – Fabricator Lamprell has updated its offshore rig delivery schedules.

The company is building an additional four rigs forNational Drilling Co. (NDC) at its Hamriyah facility in the United Arab Emirates. NDC rigs 3 and 4 are on track for delivery in 1Q and 2Q 2014 respectively, while first steel was cut for rigs 5 and 6 in early January.

Construction of a first jackup for Jindal Group is on schedule for delivery this fall. Additionally, engineering and procurement has started on a second jackup recently requested by the same client, again to be built in Hamriyah. Delivery is planned for 1Q 2015.

In December, Lamprell loaded out its first jackup for EDC for use in theCaspian Sea. The program is progressing as planned and a commissioning team has been mobilized for delivery this summer.

Keel laying has taken place for a second newbuild EDC Caspian jackup, which should be delivered in 3Q 2014.

Additionally, Lamprell is working on a wellhead deck and production, utilities, and quarters (PUQ) deck for a North Sea operator at its Jebel Ali facility. The wellhead deck is undergoing mechanical completion and will be commissioned in time for delivery this summer, while the PUQ deck should be shipped out in 2Q 2014.
