PSA to probe Knarr vessel fire offshore Norway
Petroleum Safety Authority will investigate yesterday’s fire on the Petrojarl Knarr FPSO serving the Knarr field in the North Sea.
The incident was discovered at 1:45 a.m. The fire started in a heating, ventilation and air conditioning room on the fourth deck of the vessel’s foredeck. One hundred people were onboard at the time, subsequently mustering at lifeboats.
The fire was reportedly extinguished at 2:28 a.m.
Knarr entered production earlier this month. BG Norge is field operator, and Teekay Petrojarl Production is responsible for operating the vessel.
