    Maersk offloads two supply vessels

    Maersk Supply Service has sold two of its older anchor handler tug supply vessels, Maersk Advancer and Maersk Asserter, to an unnamed international company.

    LYNGBY, Denmark – Maersk Supply Service has sold two of its older anchor handler tug supply vessels (AHTS), Maersk Advancer and Maersk Asserter, to an unnamed international company.

    Both will be modified for use in new roles.

    Carsten Gram Haagensen, chief commercial officer at Maersk Supply Service, said the sale followed a review of the company’s current fleet and future deployments, following the industry’s downturn.

    Since 2016, the company has cut 26 AHTSs and platform supply vessels from its fleet, which currently numbers 41 vessels.
