HOUSTON -- The Dept. of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory announced the availability of its Knowledge Management Database (KMD) Portal, which now allows the free search for documents and data – archived and current – produced under METL-managed oil and natural gas research.

The NETL announced availability of the comprehensive, one-stop database at a press conference at OTC 2010.

The document repository includes NETL documents from its own internal sites, previously published CD/DVDs, reports stored in the DOE Office of Science and Technical Information (OSTI) library and listing of selected hard copy documents currently available from the NETL library.

Search results are filtered into four categories:
• DOE/NETL-sponsored project documents.
• Detailed card catalog of documents captured from DOE, OSI and NEL libraries.
• Section 999 Project summaries and reports related to the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
• A collection of published NETL oil and gas CDs and DVDs.

The new KMD Portal can be accessed at www.netl.doe.gov/kmd.
