MAPUTO, Mozambique –Mozambique may find it necessary to delay its petroleum licensing round because the rules have not been clarified, suggests the country’s Center for Public Integrity in a Bloomberg report.

The Center said the applicable regulations and model contract still are not available for the licensing round scheduled for the end of April. Among the issues not yet addressed, according to the Bloomberg report, are those involving local content requirements and some details on how bids are to be evaluated.

The licensing round is to include four onshore areas, two offshore areas in depths of less than 600 m (1,968 ft), and ninedeepwater areas.
