Statoil to extend Norway drilling/maintenance agreements

Statoil is exercising options to extend five production drilling/maintenance contacts with Odfjell Drilling Management, KCA Deutag Norge, and Seawell, all of which were due to expire in 2010.

STAVANGER, Norway — Statoil is exercising options to extend five production drilling/maintenance contacts with Odfjell Drilling Management, KCA Deutag Norge, and Seawell, all of which were due to expire in 2010.
The contracts, which will be extended by two years, cover services on 17 of the company’s 20 fixed installations on the Norwegian shelf. Total value of all extensions is around $616 million.


"Continuity of the cooperation with key contributors will provide a basis for the desired HSE level and improved efficiency," said Geir Slora, Statoil’s Senior VP, drilling & well services.
