Subsea reels made in Korea

Modular Reel has won two contracts to transport and install subsea pipeline reels.

TANANGER, Norway --Modular Reel has won two contracts to transport and install subsea pipeline reels. The orders, from Portugal and the UK, are for projects in the Gulf of Mexico and Australia.

The company plans to fabricate the reels, 5 m (16.4 ft) and 9.2 m (30 ft) in diameter, in South Korea this fall and winter.

Recently, Modular Reel moved into new premises in the center of Tananger, and currently is securing space in Stord for storage, maintenance, and certification of its products.
