THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- CB&I Lummus is to perform front-end engineering and design services for the Shtokman LNG storage and loading facility at the port of Terriberka in the Murmansk region of northeast Russia. CB&I's contract, scheduled for completion in 2011, was awarded by the project’s general designer, Giprospetsgas JSC.

The sea port is part of Gazprom Dobycha Shelf’s Shtokman gas condensate development in the Barents Sea.
The project involves production, treatment, transportation, liquefaction, storage, and shipping of natural gas and natural gas liquids from the Shtokman field, 600 km (373 mi) offshore, north of the Kola Peninsula. The field has estimated gas reserves of 3.9 tcm.

CB&I's project scope includes concept and FEED development of the LNG storage and loading facility, including multiple 160,000 cu m (5.7 MMcf) full containment LNG storage tanks and associated process piping and loading facilities.

Concept and FEED development will provide project schedule and cost estimates for the engineering, procurement, and construction phase. CB&I says it also will prepare the Russian design dossier (Proyekt) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
